11A – Idea Napkin No. 1
1) I am a strong believer that one should always give back to our community any way possible. Growing up volunteering was something I prioritized in my life, and to this day I make sure to volunteer whenever I get the opportunity to. I was born in Puerto Rico, so my entire family still lives on the island, so I visit often. This organization will play a huge part in my life because it combines two things I love giving back and helping out my people. I feel that this organization will be one that I will never lose passion for because with how unpredictable natural disasters are we will always have something to do.
2) I am offering the opportunity for students to become involved in this organization to help raise money and gather donations. For donors, we will provide monthly emails informing them where donations are being sent based on recent events. This keeps them informed and allows them to feel like they are making a difference, which potentially will lead them to donate more.
3) I am offering this organization on college campuses so college students who are most probably majoring in something within the medical field. They will have the opportunity to help out those in need within America. The students involved might not have the funds to give a donation, so they rather give their time to support the effort.
4) People will find this organization valuable because they will feel that they are making a difference and many will want to help college students they know to give back to those in need. In Universities like UF, many students have parents with money, which if their child wants to be involved in an organization will lead to sponsorships and major donations toward our cause. As an organization, we will be reaching out to local businesses to see if they will like to donate their products or funds on an emergency to an emergency basis if they do not want to do an ongoing donation.
5) One thing that makes this organization different from others is that its focus is to aid those in the United States that are affected by natural disasters. This allows us to focus on less and be able to help out on a larger scale rather than limiting.

Hi Natasha,
ReplyDeleteGiving back to the community is always a great idea. You only need to look at the tragedy that happened in New Orleans to understand the horrendous ways in which natural disasters can affect Americans. However I think you need to be sure to make your organization stand out as there are numerous organizations dedicated to the same cause. I think it's a good idea but you will really have to rely on differentiating your organization as a college student funded and based operation.
