14A – Halfway Reflection

1) One of the behaviors I have been doing in order to keep up with assignments is to keep an open mind. Some of these assignments have been tedious or seem like a lot to do at once, but I have just started to see them from a new perspective. I realized that dreading doing all the assignments cost me more energy than actually just sitting down and finishing them, so I have forced myself to think in a more positive light. 2) I felt like giving up when I had these. assignments due one day and an exam to study for that week. I felt overwhelmed, but I reminded myself that this is only temporary and that I got this. I also began to look at my assignments as lessons rather than homework because I noticed it forced me to actually sit down and do it without much complaint. I feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude throughout the past two months because I have noticed that my mindset on things has changed. In all of my classes, I have noticed that my attitude toward assignments has als...

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

The Segment:  The segment I have chosen is those who like to volunteer. This organization is run by college students who will be volunteering their time to give back, so I have to make it appealing to them to get their help. Interview #1:  I interviewed one of my sorority sisters because we are a part of a volunteering based sorority. She has been volunteering a grand majority of her life and looks forward to possibly working with the Peach Corps in the future. Being a part of some organization's campus she has noticed the lack of organization and consistency in structure, which she has found frustrating because she wants to feel like she is making an impact. She said she would be interested in being a part of this organization because she feels like having a more specific area to aid that the impact will be greater rather than spreading the donations too thin. She said this will be a large need if the organization has the proper funding and leadership, but if not then she...

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

1) I am a strong believer that one should always give back to our community any way possible. Growing up volunteering was something I prioritized in my life, and to this day I make sure to volunteer whenever I get the opportunity to. I was born in Puerto Rico, so my entire family still lives on the island, so I visit often. This organization will play a huge part in my life because it combines two things I love giving back and helping out my people. I feel that this organization will be one that I will never lose passion for because with how unpredictable natural disasters are we will always have something to do. 2) I am offering the opportunity for students to become involved in this organization to help raise money and gather donations. For donors, we will provide monthly emails informing them where donations are being sent based on recent events. This keeps them informed and allows them to feel like they are making a difference, which potentially will lead them to donate more. ...

9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Interview 1:  In this interview, I talked to my boyfriend. He thinks the idea is a good one, but there might be a lack of structure. For example, if after one semester no natural disaster happens then what is the school organization going to do in the meantime? He stated this might cause the lack of support from the members because if there is nothing that is going on then they might turn their attention somewhere else. He suggested to come up with a plan that will make the members busy throughout each semester. Interview 2:  In this interview, I talked to my best friend from home that is from the Dominican Republic. She thinks that the idea of helping is amazing, but she was wondering if it will receive some negative rep since it is a club that is only going to help within the United States. She suggested that it is important to establish what is considered events that will be of focus to assist and figure out if any circumstances will expand our aid. Interview 3: ...

8A – Solving The Problem

In my previous blog post, I discuss the current state of Puerto Rico and how its people are not receiving the needed aid for them to properly survive in the South. Since January they have been having daily earthquakes that have left many without homes and without basic necessities.  My proposed solution to this problem is to start an on-campus organization for American relief. This organization will focus on the collection of funds and donations needed for states and territories that are affected by natural disasters. For example, if a major hurricane were to hit Florida and destroy homes this organization would begin to contact potential donors to help these affected areas and begin advertising on a local level to receive any help if possible.  This organization can potentially spread to other college campuses to begin an initiative of younger people taking action and helping those in the world around us.

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

Opportunity:  Many citizens in Puerto Rico are not receiving the aid that they should because of the corrupt government and the lack of media coverage of the ongoing natural disasters going on. This is why I want to create an organization on campus that focuses on raising money and donations for natural disasters within the United States as they appear. The Who: The people of Puerto Rico  The What: Not receiving the needed aid for the constant earthquakes currently going on  The Why: The government has not been distributing the products that they recieve and the media is not talking enough about what is currently going on Testing the Hypothesis:  Testing the Who : If we are only in America there are not many others that are being affected by natural disasters currently that are in the need for basic hygiene products.  Testing the What: Not everyone in Puerto Rico needs assistance, but instead those who live in the South ...

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

ECONOMIC: Electric dream: Britain to ban new petrol and hybrid cars from 2035 https://www.reuters.com/article/us-climate-change-accord/electric-dream-britain-to-ban-new-petrol-and-hybrid-cars-from-2035-idUSKBN1ZX2RY I found this article on Reuter.com. The British government has announced that beginning in the year 2035 they will begin banning the sale of new petrol, diesel, and hybrid cars. This leads me to believe that this change will lead to the car industry striving to create more eco-friendly cars in order to keep sales because if this becomes a trend many countries will soon follow with similar bans. The customer of this opportunity will be the everyday car customer because cars will be created to be more efficient. This can also be seen as an opportunity for public transportation companies because this ban might lead people to turn to public transportation rather than cars. I think this decision might be both easy and difficult to exploit because this will lead to a clean...
