18A – Create a Customer Avatar


Rebecca Jones is a 20-year-old junior at the University of Florida. Her major is nursing and she enjoys volunteering when she has the opportunity. Rebecca is a part of a community service sorority that focuses on volunteering within the Alachua County community. Her favorite place to volunteer in Gainesville is Grace Marketplace, which is a homeless shelter that provides food to those who need it. She has always enjoyed helping people in any way possible, which is why she decided that nursing will be the best career for her. Growing up her parents fostered children when possible, which has inspired to do the same in the future because she was able to see the positive impact of foster care. Throughout her childhood, she has felt that she needed to act more mature than her age becuase her parents were too busy taking care of her siblings and foster children, so she wanted to be the least amount of hassle possible for them. 
Rebecca drives a used 2013 Toyota Prius because she likes the fact that it is a more eco-friendly car. When possible she either carpools or takes the bus to where she needs to go in order to use as little gas as possible. Her favorite TV show is Grey's Anatomy becuase she likes the drama aspect of it. Rebecca mostly shops from thrift stores because she enjoys crafting her clothing into different styles becuase she does not like to wear the same thing over and over again. 
Rebecca has had family personally affected in 2017 by a natural disaster. Her aunt and uncle live in Texas and they lost their home during Hurrican Harvey because of the flooding. When this happened she begged her parents to send her to Texas to help her family and to volunteer to clean up the affected areas. Her aunt and uncle ended up living with Rebecca's family until they were able to purchase a new home. She understands the struggle and emotional impact that natural disasters can cause on those affected and their family. 

This avatar and I have in common the love to volunteer. Growing up I was a part of two organizations in high school where I would be required to volunteer throughout the year. I enjoyed being able to help while making great friends. In college, I was a part of a community service sorority where I was able to volunteer throughout Alachua county, which in my opinion helped me connect with the Gainesville community on another level. It is not a coincidence that I and this avatar have something in common becuase I personally seek out opportunities to help out the community as much as possible and the organization USA Relief I am trying to create is an organization I would personally join.

1) I am a strong believer that one should always give back to our community any way possible. Growing up volunteering was something I prioritized in my life, and to this day I make sure to volunteer whenever I get the opportunity to. 30A – Final Reflection

1) Looking through all the assignments this semester I am proud to see that I was able to complete all of the assignments. I did struggle with time management with this class, but as the semester progressed I saw improvement. I am also happy with how my business mindset has changed throughout the semester. The assignments made me expand the way I throughout of things and reading my classmates' posts made me see these assignments from a new perspective. 2) The most formative thing that stands out to me about this experience is the fact that I was able to conduct a lot of interviews throughout the semester. It taught me about the importance of seeking opinions about ideas that I have because the outside perspective can be crucial when it comes to product success. 25A – What’s Next?

Existing Market:  1) I think that the future for my organization would be the continuous expansion of chapters on different college campuses. This will help to continue the expansion of aid that USA Relief will have on the United States. This will also expand the number of sponsors that will be willing to give free products to affected areas. 2) Since we did not have to interview people because of the current state of the world I decided to talk to my friends for their opinions on what I have planned next. They stated that my idea of wanting to start chapters on other college campuses is a great idea to spread my organization because there will be students who will want to see the organization succeed and decide to run for exec. They suggested that I need to establish more firm reasoning for more organization so it can stand out from other college organizations.
