30A – Final Reflection
1) Looking through all the assignments this semester I am proud to see that I was able to complete all of the assignments. I did struggle with time management with this class, but as the semester progressed I saw improvement. I am also happy with how my business mindset has changed throughout the semester. The assignments made me expand the way I throughout of things and reading my classmates' posts made me see these assignments from a new perspective.
2) The most formative thing that stands out to me about this experience is the fact that I was able to conduct a lot of interviews throughout the semester. It taught me about the importance of seeking opinions about ideas that I have because the outside perspective can be crucial when it comes to product success. The experience that I will remember the most is the amount of work that this class was. It was a lot of weekly assignments that became overwhelming, but I am happy to say that I was able to survive the semester. I am proud of myself for thinking about the USA Relief idea because even though this organization might not happen it has encouraged me to think about ways to actually help out when natural disasters affect the United States. I want to be a part of something that is helpful, so I need to find an organization the meets these needs.
3) I personally do not see myself as an entrepreneur at the end of this. I feel like I have a lot of room for improvement and need to develop the skills to be successful as an entrepreneur in the future. I think that the idea I had was creative, but at the end of the semester, I realized that it is not the best idea and that I have a lot of areas of improvement to make it better. With this, I do have trouble trying to figure out ways to improve it, which is part of the reason why I do not see myself as an entrepreneur just yet. I do think I got closer to the mindset I need to be successful in this area.
4) One piece of advice I would give to future students is when you begin to brainstorm about what your product is going to be to not limit yourself and think about something that you are passionate about. This will make the assignments more enjoyable and in a way easier to complete because you will understand your motivation behind your project, so it will make it easier to brainstorm about the future and the progressing stages. I recommend starting the assignments way in advance if possible because the weekly assignments do catch up and become overwhelming with your other work. Also notice that everything is due at 12 pm at the beginning of the semester because I mixed up the times at the start of the semester. To foster the mindset I would suggest not to limit your ideas, but also remain realistic. Everything is attainable in this world, but we need to make sure to be able to back it up.
